Drumming Up A Celebration
November 2, 2005

Celebrating Black History Month, Foster Care Associates Ltd (FCA), the UK’s leading independent foster care agency, hosted a fun-packed event last Thursday, 27 October at The Drum Theatre, in central Birmingham.
Attended by the Lord Mayor of Birmingham, Councillor John Hood, the day included an eclectic mix of music and dance entertainment as well as craft workshops, ethnic fashion shows and a banquet of food from a variety of cultures. One of the highlights of the event was a musical performance by the Jamma Steel Band.
Addressing an audience of over 600 children and adults, the Lord Mayor’s opening speech paid tribute to FCA and its celebration of Black History Month. He said: “It is great to see companies such as FCA celebrating Black History Month and fully embracing cultural diversity in the local community.”
FCA specialises in providing quality placements for children and young people in care. In particular, it is aware of the need to match children with families from the same cultural background.
