Children & Young Peoples Support Service
The Children and Young Peoples Support Service helps to sustain and support foster placements by identifying and meeting the needs of individual children and their foster carers.
By working in partnership with others, the support workers can offer a range of flexible services including:
- Day support to maintain a placement – whether it’s an education programme because a child/young person isn’t attending school, or support to meet an unforeseen emergency in a foster home
- Supervision of contact between a child or young person and their birth family
- Transport for a child/young person to attend school, contact visits, FCA activities, holidays or, where appropriate, transport for foster carers
- Out of hours support in response to crises or emergencies
- Facilitation of family activity days and holidays
- Organising parties, forums, newsletters and football tournaments for children and young people.
