Cash Boost for Local Hospice
October 25, 2005
A £2000 donation by leading independent foster care agency, Foster Care Associates Ltd (FCA) , has provided a much needed cash boost to support the charitable work of the St John’ s Hospice, in Lancaster.
A fun-day organised by foster carers, Frank Starbuck, Sue Rushton and a team of helpers was held in the Summer at FCA’s office in Chorley. The event was in memory of Christine Starbuck who was nursed at the Hospice before she sadly passed away earlier this year.
Commending the work of the St John’s Hospice, Frank commented: “Everyone is full of admiration for the commitment and hard work of the staff at the Hospice. Their unswerving dedication to patient’s wellbeing really is second to none and we hope that FCA’s fund-raising efforts will support this continued good work.”
A cheque presentation was carried out at St John’s Hospice on October 18, by FCA assistant regional director, Julie Lambert, Frank Starbuck and the team of helpers. Foster Carer Jean Delaneys painting of Christine’s favourite place -Bolton Abbey – was also presented to the hospice in memory of Christine. Receiving the £2,000 cheque was Hospice manager, Clive Shelly.
